Former NBA guard Delonte West has announced he will step into the boxing ring on October 16th to face Michael Beasley, the former No. 2 overall pick in the NBA Draft.
West, 43, who played eight seasons in the NBA, has endured difficult years since his last league appearance in 2012, battling homelessness, mental health issues, and substance abuse.
In recent months, he has become active on social media again, sharing glimpses of his life and discussing his sobriety. During his struggles, former Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban provided crucial assistance, helping West enter a rehabilitation program and reconnect with his family.
West's last professional basketball stint was in China in 2022.
Beasley, on the other hand, has enjoyed a successful run in 3x3 basketball, starring in BIG3 where he has become one of the league's standout players. He earned back-to-back MVP awards in 2024 and 2025.
Now, these two former NBA players will trade the basketball court for the boxing ring.
