Flying Eagles lose opening game to Brazil (video)

The Flying of Nigeria lost their first game at the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

The Nigeria U-20 team lost their match against Brazil New Plymouth's Taranaki Stadium in the early hours of Monday, June 1, Nigerian time.

Brazil open scoring in the five goal thriller through Gabriel Jesus, converting Joao Pedro's cross.

The Flying Eagles however responded immediately, hitting the post before getting the equaliser seven minutes later.

That goal brought their confidence back and they took the lead in the 29th minute after a swift counterattack

The Brazilian however restored parity before half-time as Gabriel Jesus, turned provider with a brilliant back-heel pass through the legs Onyinye Ndidi into the path of Judivan.

Judivan steadied himself before firing a low powerfully drive beyond the helpless Joshua Enaholo.

Brazil took the lead again through Boschilia with a low 25-yard shot that swerved wildly before clipping the inside of the post on its way in.

A howler by Flying Eagles goalkeeper, Joshua Enaholo who had a terrible game, gifted Brazil the goal that sealed the three points for them.

He allowed a ball to squirm through legs before Judivan pounced to to smash in Brazil's fourth goal.

Nigeria will hope to get their points against other Group E opponents, Hungary, Korea DPR
