FIFA Dismisses Doubts Over England's Goal: Nothing Proven!

The International Football Federation (FIFA) has confirmed that England's equalizing goal in the World Cup quarter-final against Norway was legitimate. Slow-motion replays showed the ball did not touch a camera cable before Jude Bellingham's strike.

FIFA management informed sportschau.de that camera footage "clearly shows the cable neither shaking nor moving." FIFA also dismissed speculation that the ball's chip might have lost signal while airborne, stating that the signal remained active.

Norway and their coach, Stale Solbakken, suggested that the ball struck a camera rig cable above the pitch after a clearance from goalkeeper Orjan Nyland. The ball then fell to England's Anthony Gordon, whose pass led to Bellingham's goal, making it 2-1. Had the ball touched the cable, the goal would have been disallowed.

In its initial post-match statement, FIFA declared: "The ball's sensor showed no contact while airborne, therefore there is no evidence that the ball touched the cable and altered its trajectory."
