Sauer departs Feyenoord. The Rotterdam club has sold the 20-year-old Slovakian winger to VfB Stuttgart, who finished 4th in the Bundesliga last season. Feyenoord is reportedly set to receive at least 15 million euros for Sauer, who still had two years remaining on his contract at De Kuip.
Sauer joined Feyenoord in 2022 as a 16-year-old, initially on loan from Slovakian club MŠK Žilina. Just under a year later, Feyenoord made the move permanent, and in August 2023, he made his debut for the first team. After a loan spell at NAC Breda, Sauer returned to Feyenoord, where he became a regular starter under coach Robin van Persie. Sauer played 44 matches for Feyenoord, scoring six goals and providing six assists.
'This is something for life'
"I am grateful to Feyenoord for the trust they showed in me at such a young age, and thankful for the people who helped me develop here in every possible way," said Sauer, who went on to become a Slovakian international. "From the academy to the first team, I've seen how wonderful this club is, and I was able to lay the foundation here for what I hope will be a great career in Europe. That's something for life. Hopefully, we'll meet again, perhaps even in the Champions League next season."
Boadu leaves PSV
PSV has also seen a departure with Myron Boadu. The reigning champions are parting ways with forward Myron Boadu after less than a year, as announced on the club's website. The Eindhoven club signed the 25-year-old Boadu from AS Monaco at the end of August. The former AZ player signed a one-year contract with an option for a further year, an option PSV will not be exercising.
'It was an honor'
Boadu, who was frequently injured last season, made seventeen appearances for PSV and scored three goals. "It was an honor to play for PSV. I want to thank everyone at the club for all their support," said the one-time international.
