Ferrari's upgraded engine is set to make its debut at next week's Italian Grand Prix, according to Auto Racer.
This marks the second of two permitted power unit upgrades for the Prancing Horse, allowed under the ADUO system. The first enhancement was introduced at the Austrian Grand Prix in June, when Ferrari updated its internal combustion engine.
Engineers in Maranello have now focused their attention on the turbocharger, specifically its integration into the overall power unit. This is expected to boost Ferrari's total engine output, with some forecasts predicting an increase of at least 15 horsepower, if not more.
However, energy management will undoubtedly be crucial for a strong performance at Monza next week. The Italian circuit is the fastest on the calendar and features relatively few areas where drivers can generate electrical energy. Scuderia's strong showings in recent similar races in Barcelona, Great Britain, and Belgium certainly give the Tifosi hope for a positive result from the Prancing Horse on home soil.
