The blue and white coach shared the emotional moment with Pedro Machado, the Dragons' player battling an oncological issue.

FC Porto President, André Villas Boas, also remembered the athlete, dedicating the trophy win – the first in 10 years for the Dragons – to him, citing him as an example of determination, strength, and courage for the entire club.

After stating that "the title didn't fall from the sky" and acknowledging those responsible for securing the club's 13th championship trophy, the president reserved special words for someone who remained discreet but was always present.

"I want to dedicate this achievement to Pedro Machado, a young player from FC Porto's basketball academy, who fought a battle against cancer all season and today also becomes a National Champion. Pedro was, and is, an example of determination, courage, and strength. He inspired us all. This title is yours too, Pedro," he recalled.
