It's clear that European basketball stands at a crossroads, and decisions made in the upcoming weeks will shape the sport's future on the continent.
Montero Delivers EuroLeague's Play of the Year
Valencia's Jean Montero has been awarded the EuroLeague's Play of the Season for 2025/26, with Serbian basketball player and Hapoel's Vasilije Micić being the unfortunate victim.
Montero's move, which saw him humiliate the Serbian guard in a one-on-one situation, forcing him to the floor and creating space for an uncontested three-pointer, has been replayed countless times. This crucial three-pointer, scored in Round 27 of the EuroLeague, sparked the Spanish team's important victory against the Israeli side.
Also making it into the top three plays of the season was the Red Star duo's alley-oop combination between Cody Miller-McIntyre and Joel Bolomboy. Third place went to Kendrick Nunn for his game-winning buzzer-beater for Panathinaikos against Baskonia.
