European basketball powerhouses have taken a definitive stance: the latest blueprint arriving from across the Atlantic has failed to win over the league's majority stakeholders. Olympiacos were among the first to voice strong opposition to the proposed partnership format, and at a meeting held in Como, an overwhelming majority of clubs voted against the deal.
Several shareholders committed to safeguarding the current structure went a step further, labeling the NBA's proposal "unacceptable and colonialist," openly signaling their fierce dissatisfaction with the terms on the table.
However, select clubs have not shut the door entirely on future discussions. Their stance is that the NBA must return with a substantially improved and more concrete offer to serve as a viable foundation for further negotiations.
