Chelsea now have the English Premier League title in the hands after they held firm for a 0-0 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Both side shared the point after a resolute defence by both sides ensured that no goal was scored in the close Sunday, April 26 encounter at the Emirates.

After 15 minutes of Arsenal dominance, Cesc Fabregas playing at his former home played in a through pass for Oscar to run it.

The Brazilian beat the on-rushing Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina but Hector Ballerin cleared off the line as Ramires chased in.

Chelsea however had a shout for a penalty turned down as Ospina collided with Oscar with the Brazilian taken to the hospital at half-time.

The away side had another penalty shout turned down after Santi Cazorla’s outstretched leg in the penalty caught Fabregas.

Referee of the day, Michael Oliver however though the Chelsea number four went down too easily and brandished a yellow card.

It was Arsenal's turn in the 34th minute as a Cazorla's shot was brought down by Gary Cahill’s arm, yet the referee ignored it.

In the second both sides were pragmatic in the approach  and not even Didier Drogba-a half-time substitute could fashion out a winner for Chelsea.

Arsenal had a series of chance to win the game but Chelsea's John Terry led defence held firm to take home one point.

The celebration at the end of the game by Chelsea players shows that they needed the point on their way to sealing the title.
