Nigeria oil production about 1.9M barrels per day - oil minister

Nigeria's oil production has fallen from 2.2 million bpd at the start of the year due to a series of attacks on crude facilities in the southern Niger Delta region, which is the source of most of the country's oil.

Nigeria's crude oil production stands at about 1.9 million barrels per day (bpd), the oil minister said on Friday.

Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu made the comments during a ceremony appointing Maikanti Kacalla Baru as the new group managing director of state oil firm Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
