Drama intensifies [Episode 8]

I was petrified, unsure of what could happen, yet waiting for it to happen.
Were they going to beat the plump woman and her huge husband up? Were they going to shoot them? What was this Yellow Sisi Shewa up to? I hadn’t heard her raised voice since Daddy Japhet smacked her across the cheek.
I wanted to call my aunt but I knew she would tell me the same thing she had earlier told me ‘stay in the flat and let them sort their wahala out’
How was I going to survive in this compound? I had not even been introduced to any neighbours, but I had met three people who were trying to kill themselves.
I suppose I’d have felt better if I heard gunshots or something, but I didn’t hear any loud sounds. As much as I wanted to do gbeborun and aproko, I knew it was unwise to go downstairs near all the drama.
I looked out of the balcony again, hoping to catch a glimpse of action; dying to know what was going on.
That’s when I saw caught a glimpse of the light skinned lady, she came out of her flat just as the soldiers trooped back out of the flat they had been into.
Shewa followed closely after the soldiers, smiling widely like someone who had just won the lottery. My body itched to see the rest of the drama up close, as I was afforded the view of only one side of the compound from where I was peeping from.
As quickly and quietly she let the soldiers in, Shewa let them back out, using the old padlocks to lock the gate and going back inside with the new padlocks she has used to lock us all in before.
She cheerily skipped into her apartment and left me and my outstretched neck thirsty for more action. But since the ‘main characters’ of the free drama were inside their houses, I had no choice but to step inside to eat my breakfast and relax while waiting for the next exciting things that would happen.
