Virus Hits Last Town In Sierra Leone

The only district in Sierra Leone that had not been touched by Ebola has now recorded cases of the disease

The Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone has officially become a pandemic as the disease has reached the country’s last unaffected district.

The Sierra Leonean Ministry of Health announced that the Koinadugu district has recorded two new cases of the disease which were reflected in a daily report for Wednesday, October 15, by the Emergency Operations Center in the area.

Koinadugu district is in the far north of Sierra Leone and was until yesterday, completely Ebola-free.

The disease is on a rampage in the West African country as 425 new cases were reported last week and it has had a total of 4,249 infections with 2,458 fatalities according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
