A third person has died of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Mali, an official of the country has said.
Malian authorities announced on Wednesday, November 12, that a sick Imam had died of the disease after infecting a nurse who was the second to lose her life to Ebola in the nation.
Reports of the two new cases were confirmed by Communications Minister, Mahamadou Camara.
The Imam had arrived Mali from Guinea and was treated at Clinique Pasteur, where the late nurse worked.
Mali became the 6 West African country to be affected with Ebola after a 2-year-old girl, who had also gone to Guinea, was diagnosed with the disease.
The current Ebola outbreak has claimed almost 5000 lives in West Africa and has been declared a global emergency by the World Health Organization.
