Dubai Lands NBA Champion, Here's His Role

Dubai has announced the signing of 2016 NBA champion Tristan Thompson as a global ambassador for the club.

In his new role, Thompson will help elevate the EuroLeague participant's international presence through strategic partnerships, fan engagement, and efforts to develop basketball culture in the UAE and abroad.

The club also plans to leverage Tristan Thompson's NBA experience as it continues its efforts to establish Dubai as a premier destination for elite basketball.

“Dubai is building something that feels bigger than just a team. There's a real opportunity to transform Dubai into a global basketball hub, connecting talent, fans, and opportunities across the Middle East, Europe, and beyond,” commented Thompson, adding:

“I'm excited to support the club's development and help foster an environment where players want to come, stay, and compete at the highest level.”

The Canadian basketball player spent the majority of his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers, playing a crucial role in the team that won the NBA title in 2016.
