Dončić's Secret Location Revealed! He Traveled Far for a Special Injection

When players get injured at this stage of the NBA season, with recovery times ranging from four to six weeks, many often throw in the towel and focus on preparing for the next year. But the Lakers' Luka Dončić is clearly doing the exact opposite.

After being diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring strain a few days ago, Luka Dončić has reportedly traveled to Europe to seek specialized treatment. Certain types of injuries can be treated abroad with methods not readily available to athletes in the United States.

NBA insider Shams Charania stated on ESPN's "NBA Today" that Dončić is currently in Spain, attempting to accelerate his recovery process through special procedures.”

“Currently, the Lakers expect both Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves to be sidelined indefinitely as the playoffs approach,” Shams Charania reported. “But this week, we have a new development that I reported last night and can confirm today. I'm told Luka Dončić is currently in Spain. He traveled there to receive injections in his hamstring, where he was diagnosed with a Grade 2 strain, in an effort to promote tissue regeneration and, ultimately, speed up his return to the court. He is doing everything in his power to get back into the game as soon as possible. We know that recovery from such an injury typically takes between four and six weeks. Luka is trying to shorten that timeline, though we're not yet sure how these treatments will pan out. Will they work? How much will they actually accelerate the process? We'll see, but he's not sitting idly by. He's in Spain.”

Dr. Jesse Morse posted on X (formerly Twitter) that these specialized treatments Dončić is seeking could potentially shorten his recovery process to three to four weeks. If these predictions hold true, the Slovenian star could return to action at some point during the first round of the playoffs.

Without Dončić, the Lakers currently hold a 50-28 record in the Western Conference, placing them third in the standings.
