While some others have taken to the streets to show their disapproval, others have chosen a much more subtle method to state their dissatisfaction.
The safety pin movement is the new way pro Clinton voters have been able to identify themselves and display their solidarity.
On Twitter, the hashtags #safetypin and #pantsuitnation is being used by anti Trump protesters to interact with themselves.
Michael Skolnik wrote on his Twitter, "Wearing a #SafetyPin to show solidarity with any group or individual who @realDonaldTrump threatens. Respect to @cheeahs for inspiration."

Other users followed suit with similar expressions stating their disapproval of Trump's election as US president.
