However, Dessers has failed to hit the ground running at Cremonese, with the Super Eagles striker yet to open his goalscoring account for the newly-promoted side.

La Marca, who is also a lawyer, revealed that he has been following Dessers' career since he was at Dutch side Heracles Almelo during the 2019/20 season.
As reported by Italian news outlet Area Napoli, La Marca said: "Honestly, I expected more from Cyriel Dessers, a forward I have followed since who played in Heracles Almelo, who I believe may be the technical leader of a Cremonese who needs his goals.”
La Marca alluded to Dessers' technical ability as one of the features which the former Genk striker could deploy to the benefit of his new employers.
Dessers ended an eight-match goalless run on Friday night when he scored for the Super Eagles in a friendly match against the home-based Algerian national team.
The 27-year-old forward last scored in the colours of Genk, where he scored three (3) goals in his first four matches of the season in the Belgian Pro League.
