Disturbing Scenes at Bayern Munich: Top Footballer Ismael Saibari (ex-PSV) Reacts Swiftly

Ismael Saibari left PSV this summer to join Bayern Munich, aiming to play alongside some of the biggest stars. However, on Saturday, the Moroccan midfielder had to perform a very different kind of assist for a teammate. Saibari was the first on the scene when Jamal Musiala collapsed during a friendly match between Bayern and RB Leipzig.

A collective gasp swept through the Allianz Arena. The crowd fell silent as it became clear something was seriously wrong with German international Musiala. Moments after scoring in the 81st minute, Saibari witnessed a terrifying scene. His teammate collapsed without any opposition nearby. Saibari reacted instantly, sprinting to his teammate and catching him before he hit the ground – a stark contrast to the assist he'd provided Musiala just minutes earlier.

With worried expressions, more teammates gathered around Musiala, who lay motionless on the ground. He had succumbed to the heat. At that moment, temperatures in Munich's Allianz Arena soared to 33 degrees Celsius (91.4 degrees Fahrenheit). A paramedic rushed onto the field to attend to the player, immediately beginning treatment, while Bayern and Leipzig players anxiously surrounded Musiala. After a few tense seconds, Joshua Kimmich gave a thumbs-up to the rest of the stadium, allowing the hushed supporters to breathe a sigh of relief. Lutsharel Geertruida was also among those present.

How is Musiala doing?

Musiala was helped off the field, reportedly 'confused and dizzy' according to Bild. Technical director Max Eberl of the German top club stated after the match that Musiala was doing well. "That's the most important thing," he added. The incident produced distressing images, but fortunately, medical assistance was swift, and the 'all clear' signal was quickly given. To loud applause and chants of his name, Musiala left the field for Bara Sapoko Ndiaye, unaware that he had also set the final score at 3-1.

On August 22nd, Bayern will play the German Supercup against Borussia Dortmund, marking the official start of the German football season. The first Bundesliga match follows on August 28th, at home against Stuttgart. This provides ample time for Musiala to recover from his alarming incident.
