Senator Dino Melaye

Such bravery can’t have originated from the breast of Melaye. He had to have inside help and motivation. Pulse carried out investigations, sniffing through his playlist, and surprise!

Dino Melaye, the powerful chief from Kogi State is on Pulse Music today. A man for all seasons, and blowing hot and cold, the member of the Nigerian senate from Kogi West, has shown doggedness at every turn. Fighting when needed, showing compassion when called upon, and finally being unable to cohabit a house with a woman (two women have escaped his clutches).

These days, his name is on the lips of every Nigerian who has a passing interest in the nation’s politics. He didn’t champion a bill to promote equal rights, neither did he find the solution to crime. Rather, he allegedly threatened to beat up and impregnate the wife of Bola Tinubu, who is an influential member of the All Progressives Congress party, who also holds both the chieftaincy of the Asiwaju of Lagos and that of the Jagaban of the Borgu Kingdom in the Northern Niger State of Nigeria. He is the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) party with president Gen Muhammadu Buhari.

Such a feat needs balls, and Dino’s are the largest so far, because right after the storm came, he paid Lagos a visit, appeared on Bourdillon Road, where the famous house and Tinubu’s seat of power is located.

Dino has strong backing. He can never carry on the way he does, if he isn’t fortified by some higher power. Dino’s is a successful man who has had quite a run in local and international politics. He was a Student union leader at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in his university days before leading the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS). After that he became the Secretary General of African Youth Council and then that of the Common Wealth Youth Council. These positions won him the African youth of the year award among many other citizens of 54 competing Commonwealth countries in 2005 after which he was appointed by President Olusegun Obasanjo to chair the Presidential Advisory Council on Youths.

He studied Bsc. Geography from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Not fewer than 30 undergraduates are enjoying scholarship under his education empowerment fund, sinking of boreholes in various villages in his constituency, donated drugs worth several millions to hospitals in various villages and not to forget his continuous widow empowerment programmed.

With all of these success, wealth, and philanthropy, it’s only normal that we Nigerians just hate on a flexing man. But you know what? He understands this too, but isn’t concerned.
