Adamu, who was said to have refunded the money on Tuesday, August 16, had previously returned N1 million to the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Report said the former chairman made the refund via bank draft to the EFCC North East Zonal Office in Gombe State.

The N12 million was believed to be from the N23 billion shared by the former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke to PDP members in the build-up to the 2015 presidential eelction.
