France's national team coach, Didier Deschamps, has etched his name into the history books of the FIFA World Cup. This milestone was achieved during the semi-final clash of the 2026 World Cup against Spain.

With this match, Deschamps has now managed France in 26 World Cup games, surpassing the previous record. He overtakes legendary German coach Helmut Schön, who led the West German national team in 25 matches at the global tournament.
