The Nuggets intensified their pursuit of the 37-year-old basketball player after resolving the situation with Peyton Watson, who was sent to Cleveland in a sign-and-trade deal.

DeRozan, standing 6-foot-6, has parted ways with the Sacramento Kings earlier than expected. The club released the player, exercising a clause in his partially guaranteed contract for the 2026-27 season.

Last regular season, DeRozan averaged 18.4 points (shooting 49.7% from the field and 32% from three-point range), 2.9 rebounds, and 4.1 assists.

Journalist Shams Charania further reports that DeRozan has agreed to a veteran minimum contract worth $3.9 million.
