Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, has shed light on the club's intentions to sign a central forward during the summer transfer window. The Catalan giants are actively seeking replacements after parting ways with forwards Ferran Torres and Robert Lewandowski.
“We've seen two players depart – Ferran and Robert. While we can bring in new signings to fill Ferran's shoes, finding a replacement for Robert is an incredibly tough task. Even if you find a good player, it's still challenging because he was a pivotal figure in our squad,” Deco stated.
“We have internal solutions, but we will certainly be making moves in the market as well. It's about finding the best possible solution,” added the former Portuguese international.
According to recent reports, Barça is reportedly coming to terms with the unlikelihood of signing Julián Álvarez and is now turning their attention to Lautaro Martínez.
