According to UFC CEO Dana White, Conor McGregor is a one-of-a-kind superstar for the organization.
Conor McGregor redefined what it means to be a superstar in the UFC, and his level of fame and success will never be replicated. This is the opinion of Dana White, who described McGregor as a unique star who reached new heights in his career. White believes it's hard to imagine anyone coming close to the Irishman's achievements during his prime years.
Inside the Octagon, McGregor made history as the first simultaneous two-division UFC champion. Beyond that, he became the biggest draw, setting records for gate receipts and pay-per-view (PPV) buys in the company's history.
While predicting the future or who might challenge these records is impossible, White is adamant that McGregor is so unique he can't envision anyone comparing to "The Notorious."
"He revolutionized the world of sports, not just the UFC," White stated on "The Pivot" podcast. "I look at him as a unicorn. People constantly ask me, 'Who's the next Conor McGregor?' There will never be another Conor McGregor."
"The timing, the place, and the way he entered the sport... There will be other superstars, but there will never be another Conor."
McGregor's return to the Octagon after a five-year absence proved his star power is still intact. UFC 329 garnered massive viewership on Paramount+, despite the Irishman suffering a severe knee injury that ended his fight just 69 seconds in.
McGregor is currently preparing for knee surgery but has vowed to return to action, hoping to fight again next summer.
The Irishman has only one fight remaining on his current UFC contract. Fulfilling this obligation would immediately make him the most sought-after free agent in mixed martial arts history. However, it's unlikely the UFC would simply let McGregor walk away without doing everything possible to keep him within their ranks.
