“Your background doesn't determine your destiny”- Dr. Ola Orekunrin

D2D is honored to launch its special series of masterclasses presented by most prominent business moguls and ace entertainers, sharing their stories and words of inspiration.

The second mentor joining the FCMB Challenge during D2D bootcamp was Dr. Ola Orekunrin, a British-Nigerian medical doctor and a helicopter pilot with specialized training in aviation medicine. She began her class by talking about her childhood growing up in a foster home.

She said “Your background does not determine your destiny”, she talked to the D2D participants about the importance of starting with a dream and passion regardless of the funds available, encouraging them to learn from failure and not to give up after failing.

“Failure is not a person, it is an event. You learn everything from failure more than you learn from success.” Dr. Ola continued her masterclass speaking about entrepreneurship, “Entrepreneurship is being resourceful.  It is the ability of believing despite of the lack of resources.” She further said, “The people that generate wealth are people that make multiples of themselves.''
