How Real Madrid star treated Neymar at Ballon d’Or
Ronaldo and Neymar were nominees for the 2015 Ballon d’Or which held in January alongside Lionel Messi.
Messi polled 41.33 per cent of the vote, ahead of Ronaldo (27.76 per cent) and Neymar (7.86 per cent).
Ronaldo and Neymar who play for rival clubs- Real Madrid and Barcelona respectiverly-were very respectful of each other at the award ceremony according to Kate Abdo, the female presenter.
“He [Ronaldo] came out with Neymar, who is Brazilian and Ronaldo is Portuguese, so they both speak Portuguese, and although Messi and Neymar are team-mates, it was Ronaldo who took him around, showed him where he had to go, made sure everything was translated for him,” Ballon d’Or gala presenter Kate Abdo explained in an interview with Football Beyond Borders.
“He was just very kind and very caring towards Neymar, the way he looked out for him and made sure he knew what he was doing. And that’s a side [of Ronaldo] maybe you don’t expect.”
Neymar recently revealed that he would relish the chance to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo at Barcelona.
Both players have both seen their futures shrouded in doubt in recent months, with Ronaldo linked with a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season and Neymar understood to be targeted by Manchester United.
