Herta made his official Formula 1 weekend debut earlier this year, taking the wheel of Sergio Perez's car in the first free practice session ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

This Friday at the Hungaroring, Herta will take over Valtteri Bottas's car for his second free practice outing. The Cadillac team is hoping to build on their strong recent performances and secure their first Formula 1 point.

Both Bottas and Perez are scheduled to miss another practice session each in the latter half of the season, with Herta expected to be given both opportunities.

“It’s very exciting to get another chance in FP1,” Herta stated, who balances his Formula 1 commitments with his participation in Formula 2.

“It’s been six weeks since I was last in the car, and there’s been a lot of evolution in that time. My job is to help the regular drivers have the best possible Hungarian Grand Prix, but also to provide feedback that will support the team’s long-term development goals and give me a better foundation for future sessions.”
