Club Brugge confirm rejecting 30-goal Super Eagles striker on transfer deadline day
Belgian Pro League club Club Brugge have revealed that they turned down the opportunity to sign Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu this summer.
The Carl Hoefkens-led side acknowledged that Onuachu's agent approached them with a deal to sign the KRC Genk forward but they turned it down.
Onuachu had been linked with a transfer away from Genk all summer with clubs such as Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sevilla, and Real Sociedad all linked with the 28-year-old.
Onuachu rumour was a misunderstanding - Club Brugge

Now, Club Brugge General Manager Vincent Mannaert has come out to clear the air on what he described as a misunderstanding between Onuachu's agent and the club.
As reported by voetbalprimeur, Mannaert said: "I suspect this was a misunderstanding, because we have never shown any interest in Onuachu.
"He has been offered to us, but there is nothing wrong with that. It is interesting for the broker to say that Club Brugge is interested in Onuachu."
Club Brugge focused on other signings
The Club Brugge administrator stated that despite the rumours linking them with Onuachu, they did not allow themselves to get distracted as they pursued other transfer targets.
"At a certain point you have to try to stay zen and focus on what you are doing. Otherwise you will spend a whole day in denial. It is not always nice, because it can put other files on which you really work on hold," Mannaert explained.
The third-placed team in the Belgian league brought 10 new players including Raphael Onyedika (FC Midtjylland), Roman Yaremchuk (Benfica), Ferran Jutgla (Barcelona), and Dedryck Boyata (Hertha Berlin) during this summer transfer window.
