The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired Denver Nuggets forward Peyton Watson, according to reports from US media outlets.
ESPN reports that Watson is joining the Cavaliers on a four-year deal worth a total of $88 million. The trade was facilitated by the Denver organization, which, constrained by salary cap limitations, was compelled to part ways with one of its most valuable assets. However, the Nuggets will not leave empty-handed, receiving a first-round draft pick in 2031 and a second-round pick in 2032.
To create roster space for Watson, Cleveland sent forward Max Strus to the Los Angeles Clippers and guard Tre Mann to the Washington Wizards.
Last season, the 23-year-old Watson averaged 14.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, primarily coming off the bench.
