Italian journalist Carlo Alvino has ripped into Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen over his attitude when playing for Italian Serie A club Napoli.

Alvino criticised the Nigerian international for his gameplay and collaboration with other players on the pitch, especially when it seems the former Lille striker is not been provided goalscoring opportunities.

Osimhen scored two (2) goals in the opening two Serie A matches this season but has now gone two games without finding the back of the net.

Alvino said: "Victor Osimhen has a temper: when he realizes he receives few useful balls, gets nervous and ends up making an inconsistent contribution to the cause.

"When you are stronger, you have to prove it on the pitch. Osimhen is always pissed off: it's not good, neither for him nor for his companions. He takes it out on the whole world."

Alvino accuses Victor Osimhen of being selfish

The Naples-based journalist claimed that Osimhen is also sometimes selfish on the ball, pointing out an incident in their last Serie A match against Lecce where the Nigerian international reportedly failed to lay a pass to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Alvino explained: "The Nigerian must improve in his movements. As a selfish center-forward, he also took a good ball away from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia yesterday: he took a really golden ball away from his team-mate, it's a shame!

“He has had few playable balls, it is true, but he always has an attitude that is not good. A companion, if you behave in a certain way, can also answer you in rhymes and, in doing so, instead of building, we destroy. We have to be very careful."

Osimhen will hope to get back to scoring ways on Saturday, September 3 when Napoli travel to the Stadio Olimpico to take on Lazio for their Matchday 5 2022/23 Serie A fixture.
