Super Eagles coach backs rusty goalkeeper
Super Eagles goalkeeper coach Alloy Agu has backed Wolves goalie Carl Ikeme to be his best for the National team despite being match rusty.
The Nigeria international has not featured for the English Championship side since August in a home clash against Charlton Athletic.
Following the retirement of , Ikeme is the first choice goalkeeper of the Super Eagles and Agu has dispelled fears the goalkeeper might not be match fit ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Swaziland.
“It is not a major concern that he is not playing for his club as long as he continues to do well with us,” Agu said.
“I believe his coach at Wolves will have a second look at him based on what he does with us.
“He could also have a chance to move elsewhere for his club football.”
