Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has dashed hopes that he might be taking over at Manchester United following the sack of erstwhile.

Klopp who took his present team to the finals of last season's UEFA Champions League has been repeatedly linked with the managerial role at Old Trafford after the Manchester club parted ways with manager David Moyes on Monday.

However 46-year-old, who noted that he has not been formally approached by the United hierarchy, debunked reports suggesting he will leave the Signal Iduna Park to manage the Red Devils.

"It's a bit uncomfortable to give someone a rejection if no request has come,” Klopp told journalist.

He says he is happy to remain in Dortmund who are currently second place in the German Bundesliga.

“There are about 1000 reasons why I am super happy to work with this club,” Klopp said.

Klopp recently signed a new contract that commits him to the club until 2018.
