President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, asked the Senate for permission to borrow N2.10 trillion.

Buhari is said to have made the request via a letter sent to the upper legislative chamber and read during plenary by Senate President, Bukola Saraki, according to Vanguard.
The letter was reportedly sent along with a supplementary appropriation bill for the 2015 fiscal year to the Senate for approval.
According to Buhari, the funds would be borrowed from local and foreign sources and be used to finance the budget.
