President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to abide by the ruling of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the ownership of the Bakassi Peninsula.

The ICJ had declared Cameroon owner of Bakassi during the administration of former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.

Buhari made the promise on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, during an official visit to Cameroon, his media aide, Femi Adesina said.

“Nigeria will abide by the ICJ ruling on Bakassi, says PMB (President Buhari),” Adesina said via Twitter.

Buhari is in Cameroon to discuss the multinational fight against Boko Haram with counterpart, Paul Biya.
