Bruno Fernandes, former Benfica and FC Porto players nominated for Team of the Season

EA Sports unveiled its 40 nominees for the Premier League's Team of the Season this Tuesday, and, unsurprisingly, a Portuguese international features prominently on the list.

Bruno Fernandes was among those selected, just days after being named the Premier League's Player of the Month for March. This season, he has guided Manchester United to third place, tallying 8 goals and 16 assists in 28 appearances.

However, he isn't the only former Portuguese league player, nor the only midfielder, to make the cut. Enzo Fernández, formerly of Benfica and now a Chelsea captain, is also listed among England's top 12 midfielders, despite his club's current struggles. His teammate Casemiro, a former FC Porto player, is also included, with his contract set to expire on a free transfer at the end of the 2025/26 season.
