Yesterday, October 14, 2014 marked 6 months since over 200 Chibok girls were abducted from Borno state and US First Lady, Michelle Obama has said that the missing girls haven’t been forgotten.
Mrs Obama said via her Twitter handle, @FLOTUS:
“We haven’t forgotten about the girls who were abducted in Nigeria, and we'll keep working to help bring them back. #BringBackOurGirls –mo”
The 6-month anniversary of the girls’ abduction led to protests at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock, Abuja by the #BringBackOurGirls group and also in New York as US singer, Alicia Keys and 30 others gathered in front of the Nigerian Embassy to demand that more action be taken to bring the girls home.
The Chibok girls were kidnapped on April 14 by Boko Haram militants and most of them are still in captivity.
