Brentford has officially announced the signing of left-back El Hadji Malik Diouf from West Ham. The 21-year-old Senegalese international moves from East to West London in a deal worth £35 million, which also includes potential add-ons of £5 million. Diouf, who registered five assists in 32 Premier League appearances last season, has agreed to a five-year contract with the 'Bees', with an option for an additional year.
The defender has earned 23 caps for the Senegalese national team, scoring one goal, and featured in three matches at the World Cup earlier this summer.
Brentford kicked off their Premier League season with a dominant 3-0 home victory over Tottenham. In the League Cup during the week, they thrashed Championship side Birmingham 6-1, securing their spot in the third round where they will face League One outfit Reading.
