Bournemouth officially announced Marco Rose as the club's new head coach on Monday, succeeding Iraola. The former Leipzig manager has signed a three-year contract, set to commence after the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
The 49-year-old tactician arrives at the Cherries with extensive experience at the highest level of European football, having previously managed clubs such as Salzburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Borussia Dortmund, and Leipzig.
"The club's immediate focus remains firmly on finishing the current season in the best possible way, with players and coaching staff demonstrating full commitment to achieving positive results and continuing the current 13-game unbeaten streak," Bournemouth stated in an official release.
According to Sky Sports News, the decision to appoint Marco Rose, which also received approval from sporting director Tiago Pinto, was largely due to his football philosophy and playing style, considered similar to Iraola's.
Marco Rose had been without a club since his dismissal from Leipzig in March 2025, following a performance deemed below expectations in both the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League. Despite this, the German coach boasts several titles and experience in Europe's premier club competition.
