Boston Sets Sights on Four-Time Defensive Player of the Year

The Boston Celtics are reportedly eyeing Minnesota Timberwolves' French star, Rudy Gobert.

According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Celtics are exploring options to bolster their frontcourt and have previously shown interest in the four-time Defensive Player of the Year. Boston's most recent inquiry about the Minnesota center was made in February.

While the Timberwolves aren't actively shopping Gobert, the team is said to be open to a potential trade as they continue to build their roster around superstar Anthony Edwards.

Fischer reports that the Timberwolves are more inclined to part ways with Julius Randle, who has two years and nearly $70 million remaining on his contract, while players like Jaden McDaniels and Naz Reid continue to be highly valued.

The Wolves have also rekindled their interest in a potential deal for Giannis Antetokounmpo. According to Fischer, Minnesota recently contacted the Milwaukee Bucks to explore what it would take to pair Giannis with Edwards.
