Bosna vs Partizan (Tip-off at 14:00 CET)
Match Preview
Partizan head to Sarajevo during a challenging spell. Joan Peñarroya's side began their double-round week with a defeat against Panathinaikos in an emotional game marked by Željko Obradović's return to the Belgrade Arena. The Black-and-Whites struggled to find their rhythm, though they soon had a chance to redeem themselves against Fenerbahce.
However, the Black-and-Whites were outplayed in Istanbul. Poor shooting decided the game, with the team currently going through a rough patch from the field. Still, this trip provides a prime opportunity to bounce back and build momentum ahead of the Eternal Derby. Bosna awaits as the opponent, with the two sides having met 18 times historically—Partizan claiming 16 victories to Bosna's two.
Partizan will also be without Tonye Jekiri. The center suffered an adductor strain, and upon the team's return to Belgrade, medical examinations determined the severity of the injury. Scans conducted on Saturday confirmed he will be sidelined for approximately two weeks to recover.
What Peñarroya said ahead of Bosna
"A tough game lies ahead of us, and playing in Sarajevo is never easy. They have won their last two games and are competing in the EuroCup as well. We are dealing with some injury issues, but we are ready to put on a strong performance tomorrow." – Joan Peñarroya
Ethan Thompson also spoke ahead of the encounter, emphasizing the need to eliminate recent mistakes.
"I think it's going to be a good game and another opportunity for us to grow as a team. We've had some issues and mistakes in our recent games, so this is a chance to stay focused and play solid basketball for the full 40 minutes." – Ethan Thompson
Gjergja ready for a major challenge
Bosna head coach Dario Gjergja shared his thoughts ahead of the matchup.
"We have a big week ahead of us facing three top-quality teams with high ambitions this season. Partizan is a very well-assembled roster possessing top-tier quality at every position, as they have demonstrated in the EuroLeague. They have several versatile players who can slot into multiple positions, giving them great verticality during the game. We need to stay focused, play at our highest level for 40 minutes, and cut down on previous errors to elevate our performance and give ourselves a shot at a positive outcome." – Dario Gjergja
Edin Atić, one of Bosna's most experienced players, also previewed the regional clash.
"Partizan is a club rich in tradition, with a massive fan base and the highest ambitions. Playing against a side like that is always a huge challenge and great motivation. A demanding game awaits us where we must remain completely focused, playing tough and unified basketball from the opening whistle to the final buzzer. We believe in ourselves, in our preparation, and in what we can deliver on the court. We will give everything to put together a quality performance and achieve the result we want." – Edin Atić
