According to reports, Cameroonian soldiers have captured one of the top commanders of terrorist group, Boko Haram.

The insurgent leader, identified as Abakar Ali and going by the alias "Mustapher Umar" was apprehended with a large stash of weapons in his possession.

A Nigerian military officer reportedly told Sahara Reporters that Ali was arrested in Kousseri, a town in northern Cameroon.

The suspect, who was caught with 5 machine guns and 6 Kalashnikovs among others, was said to have been responsible for leading members of Boko Haram in attacks against the Cameroonian communities that border Nigeria.
