Buhari, Biya commit to ending terrorism
President Muhammadu Buhari and Cameroonian counterpart, Paul Biya have promised to work together to end the insurgency unleashed by Boko Haram.
During a state dinner organized in Buhari’s honour, Biya said that terrorism is a global threat and only comprehensive response could bring it to an end.
He said further that terrorism threatened social peace and security in the countries around Lake Chad, particularly in Cameroon and Nigeria.
"We can't let this gangrene prosper. We will pool our resources and work together (to stop it)," Biya said.
On his part, Buhari said that Boko Haram is the common enemy of Cameroon and Nigeria.
He also expressed his government's determination to fight against Boko Haram, defend and restore territorial integrity of Nigeria, protect the lives and property of Nigerians.
