Official Announcement from KK Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet

Christian Koloko is the newest addition to KK Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet! The former Toronto Raptors, LA Lakers, and Memphis Grizzlies center arrives in Belgrade to reinforce the frontcourt pending routine medical clearance. Despite strong interest from several EuroLeague clubs, Koloko opted for the red-and-whites as the first European destination of his career. Standing at 7-foot (211 cm), Koloko was born in Douala, Cameroon, but honed his basketball craft in the United States—first attending high school in California before spending three standout seasons at the University of Arizona, one of the premier NCAA basketball programs. Selected in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft by the Toronto Raptors, he also spent time with the LA Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, San Antonio Spurs, and Atlanta Hawks organizations, as well as their NBA G League affiliates. During his college days, he established a reputation as an elite defender, relentless rebounder, and shot-blocker, culminating in being named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year with Arizona. Koloko possesses outstanding mobility for his size, allowing him to effectively switch onto perimeter players, while his massive 7-foot-5 wingspan (nearly 230 cm) makes him a formidable rim protector and paint presence. His arrival at KK Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet will significantly increase competition at the center position and elevate the team's overall defensive identity. Welcome to Crvena Zvezda, Christian!
