Some boys of the competition may have escaped the Round of 16 but this represents an opportunity for them to be sent home. The second group of matches for the Quarter-finals brings this to the limelight.

Egypt vs Morocco

Following their dreadful display in the Group Stage, everyone expected them to be sent home early.

While it could still very well happen, Egypt have slowly grown into dark horses. They eliminated a high-flying Ivorian side to get through on penalties and showed defensive spirit and wit seen by so few in this tournament.

Morocco's path to this stage was a little easier. Although they had to come from behind against Malawi, their superior quality was never in doubt. This time both teams face a huge test. Slightly differing styles of play but still the same core principles of resilient defending.

Prediction for the game is a low scoring affair, especially in the first half. First half under 1.5 at 1.20 odds.

Senegal vs Equatorial Guinea

Another fairy tale in the competition. The Equatorial Guinea side pulled a shock win on penalties over Mali. Their story continues as they face inconsistent Senegal.

The west African Giants are favourites but their opponents can become as slippery as a banana peel. Senegal pulled off a win over Cape Verde in their own Round of 16 clash. They were however very unconvincing in that match and would be wary of the possible void left by talisman Sadio Mane in this fixture.

The prediction for the match is a Senegal win at 1.62 odds.
