Gambia vs Cameroon

The Scorpions continue to defy the odds in their debut AFCON campaign.

After finishing second in Group F, the West Africans sealed a 1-0 victory over Guinea in the round of 16. Coming up against the tournament hosts might be a big task but considering how far the Gambians have come, they will give it everything they have got.

The Indomitable Lions were victorious against the other debutant in Comoros in the previous round. Controversy surrounded the fixture as the tiny island nation did not have a recognised goalkeeper available.

Regardless, the fixture went ahead and Cameroon won comfortably, even though it seemed Comoros could have gotten more if they did not have a player sent off. Toni Conceicao's men on paper are the favoured team to pull through.

One outcome that looks certain here is a guarantee of goals. Gambia have scored at least a goal in all their matches at AFCON 2021 and have not conceded from open play. Cameroon meanwhile have conceded in all their games. This points towards both sides finding the back of the net in Douala, and it comes at a very juicy price for punters.

Prediction: Both teams to score (Yes)

Burkina Faso vs Tunisia

The Stallions needed penalties to dispatch 10-man Gabon previously. It was a game the Panthers, even with their numerical disadvantage, still looked like they had chances to get the winner. The Burkinabe will need to be more focused here if they are to make it to the semi-finals.

Standing in their way are the Carthage Eagles who got the better of Nigeria in the round of 16. The North Africans were not all that impressive in the group phase but the disciplined performance against the Super Eagles demonstrates how different things can be in the knockout stage. Tunisia reached the Afcon semi-finals in 2019 and are favourites to do so again.

Burkina Faso have met Tunisia twice in the AFCON quarter-finals (1998 and 2017), progressing on both occasions. It is however going to be a different ball game here and hard to predict the winner. One thing though is the occurrence of both teams scoring. This has happened in three of the Burkinabe's four games at AFCON 2021, while it has not happened in any of Tunisia's games. Bookies favour the latter outcome, and it could very well go that way at the Stade Roumde Adjia in Garoua.

Prediction: Both teams to score (No)
