Benfica and Parma have reached an agreement for the transfer of the center-back for approximately €20 million, plus performance-related bonuses. Circati is expected to arrive in Lisbon imminently.

The conclusion of negotiations was first reported by Fabrizio Romano and subsequently by several Italian journalists on X, including Matteo Moretto and Gianluca Di Marzio.

Circati emerges as an alternative to Taylor Harwood-Bellis, the 24-year-old English international from Southampton, for whom Benfica had submitted a €20 million offer. The English club was open to negotiations but insisted on a fee no less than €23.5 million, the amount they paid Manchester City in 2024.

Harwood-Bellis was reportedly keen on a move to the Estádio da Luz, but Benfica ultimately withdrew their interest to pursue other options. Southampton was also informed of the Eagles' progress in securing the Parma defender.
