Schweinsteiger illustrious football career continues at the MLS.

The former Germany international sign for the MLS side to cut short his stay at Manchester United.

He arrived in Chicago on Tuesday, March 28 along with his wife and former tennis star Ana Ivanovic and they were welcomed by hundreds of excited fans.

Prior to his arrival, Schweinsteiger had announced that he was on his way on Instagram with a photo of him and his wife.

“On my way to Chicago with @anaivanovic!” he wrote along with the photo.

The 32-year-old will be hoping to make his debut for Chicago Fire in their game against Montreal Impact on Saturday, April 1.

The FIFA World Cup winner trained with Spanish side Real Mallorca before flying to Chicago in a bid to maintain fitness.

Schweinsteiger will earn a guaranteed £3.5million from his one-year contract with Chicago Fire.
