Holyfield is in Lagos on invitation from the state government to participate in activities marking the Lagos @50 celebration.

The former American boxer has been hosted by Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi  Ambode and also met elder statesman Bola Tinubu.

Ali is however angry that he has been ignored while Holyfield has been given a special invitation.

“What is my wrong with my country, Nigeria? Ali asked in a Facebook post.

“I was born and raised in Lagos. I am a world boxing champion. I have contributed to the economic growth of Nigeria through sport and I was rewarded with the highest national of the Order of the Niger (OON).

“American former world boxing champion, Evander Holyfield is in Lagos as a special guest of the government to celebrate Lagos at 50 and I am not invited.

“The labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain,” he added sarcastically.
