"Balkan Boxing 9" Spectacle Concludes in Sarajevo: Almir Memić Victorious in Main Event

In a collaboration between Balkan Boxing and No Limit Fighting Network, a major boxing and kickboxing tournament, "Balkan Boxing 9," was held this Friday at the Hotel Malak in Sarajevo. The card featured 11 fights, with the main event clash between Serbian boxer Almir Memić and Colombia's Miguel Luis Vásquez drawing the most attention. After six hard-fought rounds, Memić triumphed by decision.

The "Balkan Boxing 9" tournament, held this Friday in Sarajevo, certainly lived up to expectations. The fight card featured an impressive 11 bouts, with seven ending by knockout. The main event, a clash between Almir Memić and Miguel Luis Vásquez, proved to be a thrilling contest.

Although the Serbian boxer couldn't secure a knockout against Vásquez and the fight went the full six rounds, Memić dominated the entire match, earning a well-deserved victory by decision. Memić's best chance for a knockout came in the first round when he twice sent the Colombian to the ropes. However, Vásquez weathered the storm and quickly slowed the pace, extending the fight to the distance.

This marks Memić's sixth overall victory within Balkan Boxing, two of which have come by knockout.

Before the Tournament

The official weigh-ins for the event were held in Sarajevo, with all fighters successfully making weight. The proceedings were tense-free, though sparks flew during the face-off between the main event fighters, Almir Memić and Miguel Luis Vásquez, where the "Serbian Tyson" gave his opponent an icy stare-down.

The event was also attended by Nenad Borovčanin, President of the Serbian Boxing Federation, famed Bosnian kickboxer Dževad Poturak, and one of today's top Bosnian fighters, Ahmed Krnjić. The event was split into two sessions: the first, scheduled for 6 PM, featured kickboxing matches, followed by the boxing spectacle.

A live broadcast of the event was available on the Arena Fight TV channel, starting at 6 PM.
