Reports have it that the terrorists succeeded in overpowering the Nigerian troops and taking over Borno’s second largest city

According to reports, Boko Haram has conquered Bama, the second largest city in Borno.

Sources told Sahara Reporters that the terrorist sect had completely taken over the town, which is just 40 miles from Maiduguri, the state capital.

The terrorists are said to have chased out soldiers and hoisted their flag in the center of the town.

The attack by Boko Haram in the early hours of yesterday was initially repelled by the Nigerian army but the insurgents returned in full force and overwhelmed the troops.

No official casualty figure has been given but 100 soldiers are said to be receiving treatment while some have died and yet others are missing.
